Gearbox remapping — unlock the transmission
Your gearbox has its own computer (the TCU) with its own limits. A gearbox remap recalibrates shift points, clamping pressure and torque limits so the box keeps up with the engine.
What a gearbox map changes
Depending on your gearbox — DSG, ZF 8-speed, and most modern automatics and dual-clutch units — we can adjust:
- Shift speed and smoothness
- Torque limiters that hold back a tuned engine
- Launch control and rev limits where supported
- Kick-down response and shift points in each mode
Why it matters after an engine remap
Many gearboxes are programmed with torque limits below what a tuned engine produces. The result is the ECU being held back by the TCU. Matching the two means you actually get the power you paid for, with cleaner shifts.
Is it right for you?
If your car is remapped (or you're planning to), or the box feels lazy or hesitant, a gearbox map is one of the best-value upgrades available. Ask us with your registration and we'll confirm what your box supports.
